Ballin by Nature is more than a basketball league — it’s a community movement. Built on the belief that sport should uplift, connect, and inspire, the league brings families, kids, and neighborhoods together through the game we all love. From packed courts to smiling faces, every event is about positive energy, shared moments, and giving the next generation a place to thrive.

Our official mascot, Slugga, brings the fun — hyping the crowd, engaging with kids, and making every game day feel like a celebration. Fueling the action is Nourished by Nature, our official drink partner, supporting healthy choices and real nourishment on and off the court.

BRANDON SMITH

As a proud East Orange native and former East Orange High School basketball standout, Brandon brings the same drive and teamwork from the court to his professional work and communities across the globe. With over 20 years of experience in community outreach and brand marketing—collaborating with top-tier brands such as Nike, NBA, HOT 97, Brooklyn Nets, EA Sports, and Red Bull—he has built a reputation for delivering high-impact experiences with a focus on giving back. For more than a decade, he has led Hoopsville, one of New Jersey’s premier basketball pro-am leagues, known for its strong community roots and elite-level competition.

MARCUS TONEY-EL

Former Associate Head Coach at Farleigh Dickinson University with four years of playing professional basketball, competing in the Dominican Republic, Japan, and Australia. Toney-El has coached high school basketball for the last 10 years. Within that timeframe, he established El-ite Experience which offers basketball training, basketball camps, and clinics for the youth. A former coach of the New Jersey Playaz as well as a head coach at the historic Five Star Basketball Camp, Toney-El has been able to use his playing and coaching experience in a way to pour into the youth.

Rooted in culture, community, and legacy, this partnership brings together two powerful forces in basketball and hip-hop history. By uniting Ewing Athletics, Ballin’ by Nature, and Naughty by Nature, this collaboration honors the game’s impact far beyond the court—where style, music, and community collide.

The limited footwear release is available to the public, giving supporters a chance to directly invest back into the community. A portion of the initiative focuses on gifting players high-quality Ewing sneakers, ensuring they step onto the court confident, supported, and equipped to perform at their best.

This collaboration proudly represents Black-owned entrepreneurship, celebrating legacy brands that have shaped culture for generations while continuing to create opportunities for the next. Every pair tells a story of ownership, resilience, and giving back—using basketball as the vehicle to uplift youth, empower local talent, and strengthen community bonds.

Nourished by Nature was founded by Cassandra (“Cass”) Quarantello, a 42-year-old mom from Belmar, NJ, to give her children and community healthier drink options. She opened a cold-pressed juice bar, creating delicious beverages that replaced sugary drinks. Cass chose the name Nourished by Nature inspired by a natural, wholesome identity. Later, Vin noticed the name echoed the iconic hip-hop group, Naughty by Nature.
